RPCSC Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct sets expectations for behavior to help ensure a positive and respectful environment for all participants.
Sportsmanship and Respect for Others
Treat all players, officials, and spectators with respect and courtesy.
Display good sportsmanship at all times, win or lose.
Avoid offensive language, gestures, or behavior.
No taunting or flaunting your position.
Do not throw your paddle.
Do not go onto a court while a point is in progress.
Offer advice and mentoring to others only when requested.
Fair Play
Adhere to the rules of the game, and play honestly and fairly.
Respect the decisions of other players.
If unsure about a call, engage in respectful dialogue, but accept the final decision.
Safety
Ensure the safety of yourself and others by playing in a safe manner.
Avoid actions that could result in injury, such as reckless swinging or unnecessary aggression.
Stop play if there's an unsafe situation. If a ball comes from another court, make eye contact and return it.
Integrity
Demonstrate fairness, honesty, and integrity both on and off the court.
Avoid any form of cheating, including intentionally miscalling a score or a ball in or out.
If you notice a mistake, it is encouraged to self-correct.
Respect The Facility
Treat the court, equipment, and surroundings with care.
Follow any facility-specific rules, such as rules for footwear or court maintenance.
Positive Attitude
Foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere by encouraging others.
Be gracious whether you win or lose, acknowledging the efforts of your opponents.
Conflict Resolution
In case of disagreements, approach the situation calmly and respectfully.
Seek resolution through open communication, and, if necessary, involve another member, or you can Roshambo, pick straws but then move on.
Reporting Misconduct
If you see unacceptable behavior, you can report it to any Club officer.. Members should also self-report any misconduct promptly.
Repeated violations of this Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the Board of Directors and may result in termination of Club membership.
