Frank’s Coaching Corner

JANUARY TIP OF THE MONTH

By Frank Palladino

Meet Me in the Middle

Since the pickleball stays really low on almost every bounce, we should stay low so our eyes are closer to the ball, giving us a much better chance of meeting the ball in the “Middle” of the paddle (the sweet spot). This will improve our accuracy, reduce pop-ups, improve power, and reduce paddle tweaking and missed shots.

Take a look at this photo of my paddle. It shows ball marks “in the middle” of the paddle because that’s where you want to hit the ball.

Stay tuned for more coaching tips or, better yet, join Coach Frank’s pickleball clinic at the DoubleTree on the third Thursday of the month. See Events for more information.
